I recently published a backpacking cookbook. In a large saucepan over high heat combine the water, cider vinegar, red wine vinegar, onion, carrot, salt, pepper, bay leaves, cloves, juniper, and mustard seeds. Rachael Ray, Horn of the Moon and Moosewood are favorites of mine. Layer the potatoes in the bottom of a 4-quart electric slow cooker.

Then cover crock-pot and cook on low for 8-9. Cooking for other people and trying new recipes or foods is FUN! I have a small (but growing quickly!!) cookbook collection and one of my favorite things to do is to read recipes and plan meals. In 4/5 quart slow cooker - combine beef, onions, broth, vinegar, bay leaves, carrots and potatoes. Even the dog knows the command get outta my kitchen! LOL. I tend to take over the kitchen when I get in there. pickling spices, 14 whole cloves, 8 whole black peppercorns, 3 bay leaves, 3 sprigs thyme, 2 sprigs parsley, wrapped in cheesecloth, tied with. Top with garlic, onions, cloves, and bay leaves. 1 large carrot, thinly sliced 1 bouquet garni (1 tbsp. Remove browned meat from the skillet and transfer to the slow cooker. I might make it again, but will add my own improvements if I do. Dust well with all-purpose flour and transfer it to a large nonstick skillet and brown on all sides in shortening. 3 Stars This needed a little *something*something*. I can't think of a single improvement and I will most likely make it again. My rating system: (I don't like giving bad reviews, so if I don't like it, I'll just not review it.) 5 Stars OMG, this is one of the most amazing things I've ever eaten! I can't stop eating it, and I've eaten myself into a food coma.
